Attire:

Manteo Lodge is not a formal dress lodge. As a rule, officers and members wear casual attire (polo shirts, khaki slacks, even jeans). During degree work officers will wear coats and ties, but this is not required of members and visitors.

Vacation Attire:

We realize folks often times forget to pack slacks when coming to the beach, especially in the summer. While members are discouraged from wearing shorts, we understand visitors might not have slacks. So, come as you are. Obviously, no cut off’s or bathing suits, muscle shirts, or really worn tee-shirts. But, nice shorts—yes. Nice tee’s, polo shirts, “dress” sweatshirts—OK also!. A really loud “Hawaiian” shirt? We’ll make fun of you, but bring it on. Dockers without socks? Some of our members dress like that! In the winter, nice jeans are fine, as are sweaters. From time to time, we’ve even been known to allow sneakers. Mainly, we want you to attend! We love having visting brethren.
